Time and Eternity
“I give them eternal life and they shall never perish…..….” John 10:28
After observing me go “watchless” for months, Pam cornered me last week wanting to know my problem. “My watch is too loose, too heavy, and the battery is dead”, I muttered. A few days later she presented me with a featherlite, Instalite, water-resistant-to-100 feet, luminous dialed, Velcro banded, Armitron Watch… with a sweep second hand. She paid a hefty $14.97 for it at Wal-Mart.
As I looked it over today, I began thinking about how often we check our watches. We need their assistance to rise, go to work, and meet all our obligations on time. But even though they’re indispensable now, the day will come that we won’t need them any more. The fulfillment our Lord’s final prophecy on earth will mark time’s final stop.
There’ll be no more bad times, hard times or sad times. And when time is all gone, God’s people will welcome eternity with open arms. The only ones who won’t... will be those who won’t spend it in heaven!
